FrancineSpring2016Bio: Francine Bizal has been drawing and painting from an early age. When she was in High School she was awarded a scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute for the summer between her junior and senior year. She loved it made up her mind to attend college there. While at the Art Institute she studied design, painting, drawing and print making and graduated with a BFA degree. Her career was mainly in the Graphic Design field and she enjoyed her work and all the wonderful people she met, but after she retired she decided to concentrate on fine art. She painted almost daily for several years and continues to paint frequently and study with outstanding artists whose work she admires. She paints a wide range of subjects and works in many different media. She enjoys each season of the year and likes to paint locations she visits when she travels, working from photographs she has taken. She has also taken up Plein Air painting and found she really enjoys it. She has participated in a number of Plein Air events in the Kansas City, metro area and looks forward to traveling to other locations to paint.
