This is a still life set up that I painted during a workshop with Adam Clague. He is such a good artist and instructor. He is a joy to work with.
I like to get several Amaryllis bulbs around Christmas time and watch them grow and bloom
I planted this pale pink rose in my garden and then decided to paint it.
Then I decided to paint the whole bush. I love roses they are one of my favorite flowers and I have grown them for many years.

September 5 – 7, 2014, I participated in a workshop at Tina Garrett’s studio with the famous artist Romel de la Torre. It was fascinating to watch him work.
After his demonstration we tried our hand at painting one of the two models that were posing for us. I missed the second day of the workshop to attend my nephew’s wedding, but was able to complete a portrait the next day.
The model’s name was Leslie, but I don’t know her last name. I have drawn her before at another drawing session in Overland Park, Kansas. She is a very good model and I enjoyed painting her.

I have been participating in several workshops with nationally known artists. It has been very interesting and very rewarding. One of the workshops that I attended was given by Nancy Medina. I have admired her paintings for many years and when I found out she was having a workshop near where I live I signed up. It was great fun. I have always loved to paint flowers and was eager to find out how Nancy got such gorgeous clear colors in her paintings. It was very informative to watch her paint the demos and she is an excellent teacher and talks you through what she is doing. I learned a lot. After the demo each day we would do a painting of our own. I love working with her technique and will probably incorporate it into my paintings from now on.
